National Trails Day
June 7, 2008

A big effort like National Trails Day doesn't just happen; it takes a volunteer team to decided which trails need
attention, how many people are needed for each project, what equipment is needed, how long will it
take, how much food is needed to keep the troops going and a hundred other details.
Project leader, Mike Lentz on the left, has logistic support from Tom Poste.
A big THANK YOU goes out to Peg Grieve, Caryn Pekarek and Bob Diamond, Sr. for acquiring the food, setting up
the PCC trailer, making sure we had enough fluids, preparing snacks and lunches. Thank you Caryn and Mary Poste for pics.
Bob Diamond, Sr. is a multi-tasker as he gives Caryn some encouragement and then, turns his attention to the floor.
Worker Bees need starter fluid, so the first order of business is coffee, coffee, coffee! The bees in this row are
Steve Lerma and Thurston Pritchard.
Peg Griewe and Dr. Jack Gillette.
Thurston Pritchard and Ron Downing. On the right, Lori Huston and Jack Gillette.
In the background on the left is Bob Brooke, then Ron Downing; Barb Downing in the flue coat,
Karen Amaral in the back and Steve Lerma in the green jacket. On the right, Nisqually members Louise Caywood
and _____________.
On the left is Bob Brooke with Peg Greiwe; on the right is Bob with John Jensen.

Mike Lentz with DNR rep, Nancy Baker.
Bob Brooke with Nancy Baker. What ARE they laughing about!?!   On the right, Thurston, Mike and Nancy.
Frequent workers are Mary Post, Sally Laib, Sondra Johnston and Peg Greiwe. After a busy morning, a hot lunch was most welcome.
A tireless worker, Louise Caywood along with friend Jerry, set up the LNT trailer to provide information
to the general public.
Many members of the Nisqually Chapter donated a lot of hours to repair the walls of the pavilion
as well as adding 'close-able' doors.
iAfter the new is one, painting is the number on chore.
When heavy equipment is needed,  we can count on Steve Lerma on the little loader and Dr. Jack
with a post hole digger.
Why is it that we frequently find Tom Poste in the midst of women? In case, it's Lori Huston
and Sondra Johnston
I think this means that Mike Lentz is happy with the day's work while
John Jensen looks on.
