One of the benefits to belonging to the Pierce County Chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Washington State is the ability to sign up for special clinics; this one on packing, held each Thursday for a month, focused on identifying appropriate pack stock, types of pack saddles, how to prepare items for packing and correct knot and hitch understanding.
Ron used printed workbooks along with with a PowerPoint display by Sandy Wade to teach the classes. Jack Gillette provided a warm classroom at Wildflower Veterinary Clinic along with wonderful treats.
Ron provided ample opportunity to practice on pack barrels; all the various pack equipment was represented as well as additional personnel to help with one-on-one instruction.
